The Coach Was Once A Hawk (With Glasses)

Remember Al Arbour, coach of the New York Islanders when they were the class of the league, winning four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 1980’s?

Here he is in a Hawks’ uniform in the late 1950’s, one of the many minor and major league teams Arbour toiled with. The media always liked to describe the stay-at-home, conservative defenceman as the only player in the league who wore glasses.

The little girl with Arbour would be about 60 years old now.
