Maurice Richard passed away on this day 12 years ago, May 27, 2000. He was 78.

It was my pleasure Dennis. I did happen to talk to the Rocket while I was there and maybe he did listen to my prayers – look at how our team is being reborn. The next time I go I should ask him about making a certain guy a stickboy…but if I could only remember what that guy’s name was. Damn, I can’t remember.
I still want to find the other resting spots and now that it’s summer I should try. If I do, I will go to every single one and make a request for a Stanley Cup. So when we win one for the next 10 years in a row, you can all thank me.
Just don’t get mad at me for all the money that we’ll all spend on our Cup-Winning Merchandise.
