Roadrunner, Flower, Coco, Riser, Little M, Big Bird, and Gasser Celebrate

Yvan Cournoyer, Jacques Lemaire, Guy Lafleur, Doug Risebrough, Pete Mahovlich, Larry Robinson and Gaston LeBois celebrate after winning the Stanley Cup in 1976.

“Gaston was our best player,” admitted Jacques Lemaire. “He was a bit long-in-the-tooth, but at least he wasn’t a puck hog like big Pete, or a chain smoker like Flower, or a moody son-of-a-bitch like myself.”

  1. I kept mine in the packaging for the longest time, then decided they’d look nice on a shelf so I opened them. And now that I’m in another house, they live in a box. Except Gaston. He pretty well lives wherever he wants. Thanks Kevin.

  2. Your mention of all those past hab players made this as good as any other spot to tell you I picked up McFarlane’s twosome of Koivu and Kovalev. Very nice, how many times have we seen Koivu bent over with his stick across his thighs, head turned to the side as he checks the position of his line mates while waiting for a face-off? If that wasn’t enough on the shelf right beside them was a twosome of Lafleur and Shutt! Christmas in July! You want to know the best part? Those people at McFarlane are geniuses, they made the Lafleur figure with his mouth closed!

  3. Now you’ve got me thinking I should’ve grabbed them too. They are really nice. And Lafleur with his mouth shut? C’mon, can’t be.
