R.I.P. Gerry Bradbury

I had written about Gerry Bradbury, who was a fantastic young hockey player and one who had almost single-handedly beat us with his brilliance in the Ontario Provincial Championship all those years ago.

Today, I received this email from Mary Bradbury:

“I would like to let you know the unfortunate news that Gerry Bradbury passed away early this morning 2 weeks from his 61st Birthday. A loved Husband, Father, Son, Brother and Uncle.

He loved the game of hockey and we spoke of the good old days often. He was a wasn’t a big guy on the ice by any means but he made his presence known with his speed and fire.

He will be missed.

  1. Gerry was my Uncle. My father was Neil, one of Gerry’s older brothers. He also passed recently. I can only hope they are together – laughing and keeping each other company . I love and miss them both.

  2. Sally, I’m very sorry about this. I was in Orillia recently with old friends and we were talking about Gerry and how good he was. Although I only played against him and didn’t know him, I’m very sad about this news. You should be very proud of your uncle, as I’m sure you are.
