Questions, Quayle, And A 1967 HNIC Promo

April 29, 2012 in Bobby Orr, Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, Gordie Howe, Henri Richard, Hockey Night in Canada, Montreal Canadiens Tags: , , , , , , ,

Is it October yet? Should the parade go by the old Forum? Why haven’t I been called by the team? How are the players’ wives holding up? Why is the sky blue? Is Gomez gone yet? Who’s hotter – Betty or Veronica? Why are mouthguards coloured? Will Brad Marchand be taking summer courses at Harvard?

And the thought for the day? A quote from ex-U.S. Vice-President Dan Quayle. ”It isn’t pollution that’s harming the environment. It’s the impurities in our air and water that are doing it.”

Dan Quayle?………….. boy, have you opened up a can of worms. “Republicans understand the bondage between a mother and child” something like that……..but not to worry hab fans, “the future will be better tomorrow”

  2. Danno Says:

Speaking of pollution, In 1981, U.S. President Ronald Reagan made this brilliant observation:

“Trees cause more pollution than automobiles do.”

    Remember Dan Quayle’s spelling lesson?:

Surprisingly few scenes of Canadian teams for hockey night in Canada. I didn’t recognize any Leafs and the only Canadiens scene was the goal scoring sequence at the end.

“You won’t find many empty seats at a National Hockey League game.” Obviously this is pre-expansion, especially the Bettman expansions into the sunshine cities. Even the Laffs have lots of empty seats nowadays, no fans can afford the $1000 seats, corporations can’t afford for their executives to stay past the second period.

Betty is way hotter than Veronica.

I want the GM named soon because he’s got some work to do and bus tickets to get for some players (how else can they get to Hamilton?).

Nice promo. It’d be interesting to show those people what we have today (giant tvs, HD, etc) just to see them freak out.

I bet one of the first questions they would ask is whatever happened to the Habs to make them so terrible.
