Our Kids On Top

TSN’s most recent rookie rankings, with Chucky and Gally in numbers 1 and 2. And even though this is just TSN’s and one man’s (Scott Cullen) opinion, it’s still great to see. Interesting to see Yakupov at 15th.

Thanks to Danno for this.

  1. Just heard Sabres fired Ruff and replaced him with Ron Rolston who at one time was an assistant coach at Clarkson University where Eric Cole used to play college hockey. At least they didn’t hire Jon Cooper to be head coach. I hope he gets a job in the NHL someday but since we won’t hire him I hope he winds up out west so we don’t have to face him very often. I think he is the best coach not currently in the NHL now.

  2. Folks here’s my humble/happy take on the CH. We had YEARS of ceremonies at THE FORUM & THE BELL— good acts of class by ownership etc.– but no hoe-down since ’93. I’m getting restless ornery & optomistic. Leave those ceremonies for now. We have PK ,MAC PAC , The Russian Train Wreck[Emilin] Diaz, the Gall Kids ,Carey,Ellar– kids surrounded by older guys who can play and teach–MacPack admired Cole’s ethic & copied it[ wish it was on display Cole]. They said Prust could fight BUT seems he can play too. Here’s thepunch line—WE GOT A TEAM don’t go for a pee , you may miss something GOOD !! Good nite.

  3. dra58, I remember you talking about Cooper before, from Prince George. I’m going to try and find out more about him. I read one piece from someone who said they wished he would have ended up coaching the Oilers.

  4. Peter Hab, so many bright lights this year. Prust has shown that he has an edge and can also play well. I love that. And he seems the perfect guy for the kids. And Diaz has been a surprise for sure. With Cole, imagine how much better his line would be if he was going good. So he’s gotta get going. Hopefully Thornbush will light a fire under him.
