On The Eve Of The Game, Hobo Has His Say

My good friend Hobo says some good stuff in leading up to the final game.

“All right……..it’s time for me to come clean, not that I have been lying, but to be honest, the ONLY reason I hope the Canucks win the Cup is because they are a Canadian team and it is good for my country if they were to win….. as a team I don’t like them. I don’t like the Sedin sisters, Lalonga, as Yawn Cherry would say, is inconsistent, swiss cheeze a lot of the time altho I kinda feel for the guy until I remember how much he makes.

“Don’t like the coach, the nucleus of the team was put together by Brian Burke etc. etc………………on the other hand,….. and this is where I risk being banned from the best blog in hockey, I have come to greatly admire the Bruins as a team. They do what ever it takes to win with the talent they have. Their goalie is showing a superior effort. The coach is doing a good job. Any holes in the armor is made up for by extra effort in other areas. Everyone to the man is contributing……….. little Brad Marchant has made the cry baby sisters look like shit. and he scores. Don’t ya wish some of the bums on the Habs would play with that intensity? Don’t ya wish he would stick that shnoz in opponents faces while playing for the Habs? It’s hockey, not a beauty contest or a diving contest……………. like I said before, the team with the best goalie wins the Cup but I could be wrong. I was once.

  1. Urgh. Intellectually I get what you’re saying, Hobo, but emotionally I can’t wrap my heart around that. I hate the Bruins more than anything. They.are.dirty.Period.

  2. Hey Dennis,Well just got back from computer purgatory this afternoon and thought that I would look over your blog for the first time in a couple of weeks.I think your buddy Hobo has fallen from the train and struck his head, this doesn’t sound reasonable at all,but banning from your blog would be much to easy.I think that Mr. Hobo is having a hard and difficult time accepting Montreal’s Stanley Cup drought years and has jumped on another bandwagon of sort.I dont know the fellow like you,so I’m not sure if he will come around or not.You may want to give a call to the Hab house for infirm folks and let them know that they may have an future vistor happening along their way.

  3. But Derry, I agree with Hobo. The Canucks so far haven’t shown that they want it as much as Bosotn. As despicable as the bruins are, they’re playing with more heart. Vancouver may have a had the best record in hockey during the regular season but but they’re not playing like champs at all. They’re not scoring, their goaltending is suspect, andf there doesn’t seem to be great leadership right now. I really understand where Hobo is coming from on this and I think he’s right. Look at Brad Marchand – he’s a rookie and he’s showing more fire than Ryan Kesler and it should be the opposite. The Sedins were so dangerous in the season and they’re hardly at all now, which means the Bosotn coaching seems to have found a way. Meanwhile, the Canucks coaching can’t get their boys untracked. 8 goals in 6 games in the Stanlery final is unacceptable. So I stand by what Hobo says.

  5. Hey Dennis,I agree with some of it as well,I dont like the idea of Marchment playing for the Habs,or even chearing for the bruins.I still think that the nhl brass side with the bruins as there have been no discipline to have hit the team thus far except for a one game outage for Ferrence for raising the middl e finger to the Hab faithfull.Where have all the penalty calls gone to when the bruins run the Canuck players ,or punch them in the face time after time in front of a ref?I said the Canucks didnt want to play the Bruins ,for this reason alone.

  6. intellectually i like the bruins, emotionally i don’t care much. i still have my one and only reason to cheer canucks. i dislike both teams of course for different reasons……….. the habs are the only team i cheer for emotionally…………………as for my hypothetical scenario, we all agree habs need a player up front to add toughness and intensity plus be able to score. if you are honest and marchant was a hab how could you not love the guy? if you hate the guy so much you would not want him on your team just because he has the stink of a bruins jersey on him then you’re coming from a negative place IMHO. but like they say in arranged marriages, you’ll learn to love him. anyway we will never be so lucky………. quit being a whiny hab fans

  7. I have to agree with hobo about Marchant, and not just because I’m a Bruins fan. I feel the same way about PK Subban — as a Hab, I don’t like him, but I do respect his ability. If he were a Bruin, you bet I would like him.

  8. Dennis et al., come baaaack! Come baaaack to the good side. Yes Boston plays well but their ethics stink! This whole series sums up their dirty plays. What they did to us and continue to do and the NHL let’s it happens. I’m telling you, I’m close to giving up on hockey.

  9. Trust me, Marjo. I hate the Bruins. Can’t stand them. All I’m saying is they’re doing what they need to do to win this thing and Vancouver isn’t as much. But you must believe me, I can’t imagine seeing the Bruins hoist the Cup and if it happens, I’ll turn the TV off at that point.
