Markov Gone For How Long?

Now we’re hearing reports that Andrei Markov could be sidelined for up to a year.

And my reaction to this? Oh well. Ho hum. Carry on.

There’s nothing we can do about it. Agonizing doesn’t help.

Hey, some adversity never hurt. We’ve played without this guy before and won and we’ll do it again.

Anyway, we’ve got PK Subban.

It’s just that Markov was going to get the power play back in order and now we have to go to plan B.

Whatever that is.

  1. Dennis, all this speculation plus about $12 will buy you one beer at the Bell Centre.
I’ve decided to remain hopeful that this is just a minor setback for Markov until a real doctor gives us the real news.

  2. $12? I thought it was $10. Oy. I need to save more money for my trip in January.

Danno, hopeful is one thing. Delusional is another. I’m at the latter stage. He’ll be back for the Toronto game. I’m calling it now!

In all seriousness, if he’s gone, I want him gone for the season on the LTIR so that the Habs can go out and buy somebody who can help. I don’t like Picard and I’m not hearing great things about Weber other than his PP.

  3. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our power-play just started clicking a few games after he came back. 6 PP goals in last 3 games. However the last 2 were after he went down, so we can score without him. Just keep doing that.

  4. Marinaro and his sources……. Anyway, I’ve convinced myself that everything will be fine without him. As long as PK Subban truly becomes a general back there.
