Makes Sense To Me

August 12, 2011 in Montreal Canadiens Tags: ,

I told my wife about the Andrei Kostitsyn thing, and she offered her thoughts.

“Don’t trade him, but Jacques Martin should say to him, you want the first line, you’ve got the first line. But if you suck I don’t want to hear any more crying.”

Yup, play Kostitsyn and Gomez together on the first line. And then save their energy by only playing them under 10 minutes a game. Tricky question who else to put on this high calibre line?

  2. DarthAlexander Says:

    He could also:

    a) Tell him: “Do good Andrei and you’ll get an extra cookie after the game.”

    b) Rub his thumb and forefinger together and tell Andrei it’s the world’s smallest violin playing for him.

    c) Pass him some garbage bags after the game and tell him to make himself useful and help clean up the place.

Chris, as long as it isn’t Sean Avery.

  4. Dennis Kane Says:

    Darth…Hah!!

cut to the chase………….. call area code 615, that would be nashville………. there is a reason the word spoiled is use to describe these babies. think of food when it goes bad, it’s spoiled, never to be res-erected.

  6. Danno Says:

    Who knows?

If Andrei is happy maybe he will “put more puck in net”…

Or maybe he’ll just suck and blame it on Martin.

    Stay tuned…

  7. Derry Says:

Hey Dennis,I’ve played and coached enough hockey to know that it only takes one bad apple to screw up the pie,get rid of him is the best way to go,enough of the sniveling and whining, they got rid of his bro for that reason, now time for Andrei to go.

  8. Christopher Cordahi Says:

Danno, it’s so simple: go to net, put shot on net, puck go in net.
Beats the hell out of float around and whine that you’re not getting enough float time.

  9. Danno Says:

Christopher, it should be simple but it isn’t. If Kostitsyn is put on the first line (like he wants) and he is centred by Gomez, don’t you think he will be belly-aching about being placed with Gomez if he has trouble to “put puck in net”?

I agree with Luciena and Dennis. Martin should give him what he wants on condition that if he sucks he must shut the ____ up.

It’s too big a risk to trade him right now because when he’s on his game Andrei Kostitsyn is a Belarusian beast.

    Here’s the solution…
The whining has to stop. Then the winning will start to happen.

But if he can’t agree to that then pick up the phone and trade him.

  10. Dennis Kane Says:

Hobo, why would he stuff his foot in his mouth like that? I get the feeling he’s not Albert Einstein.

  11. Dennis Kane Says:

Danno, I’m still waiting for his retraction. Will it ever come, or does he just not get it?

  12. Dennis Kane Says:

Good one, Derry. If he stays, he better pot a ton of goals to make us forget his whining. Otherwise, the boos might be louder.

  13. Dennis Kane Says:

Chris, “float time.” Great phrase. I may have to steal that sometime this year.

  14. Dennis Kane Says:

Danno, he should be concerned about playing as hard as he can, producing, and helping his team win. Of course, it’s mostly the opposite, it seems. I can’t stand guys who only show their talents from time to time. I want regularity. Maybe he should try Ex-lax!

  15. Christopher Cordahi Says:

Dennis, those last 3 lines have my vote for quote of the day.

  16. hobo Says:

MAYBE HE’S JUST THINKING ABOUT GETTING LAID……… I KNOW A SMALLISH YET SHIFTY RIGHT WINGER WHO SUFFERED THE SAME DILEMMA SAILING DOWN THE WING………. BUT THEN AGAIN HE DIDN’T MAKE MILLIONS.
