It’s A Boy!!!

I’m proud and ecstatic to announce the birth of my little baby grandson and Montreal Canadiens 2029 first-round draft pick Adam Gary Lewis. (Middle name Gary is named after Adam’s grandpa Gary who passed away recently).

Adam weighs in at nine pounds, five ounces, and will probably be either a defenceman or a power forward.

Mother is doing fine, father is too, but I’m a bit of a basket case right now.

  1. Bravo Dennis and congratulations to Mom and Pop too!

We were wondering how everything was going and happy and relieved everything is fine.

By the way, it was nice of you to honour Gary Bettman like that with the middle name 😉 I kid!

Adam Gary Lewis. A beautiful name. A 50-goal-a-season sounding name.

Time to hand out the cigars! (Chocolate ones, preferably)

  2. Thanks a lot, Danno. It’s a big relief – little Adam was supposed to make his entrance last Sunday. I hope this doesn’t mean he’ll be one of these guys who are always late for team meetings.

  3. That’s a good one, BB. I gotta admit, it tickled my funny bone.. I encourage any readers to read the joke Blue Bayou sent.

  4. Congratulations, way to go, I’m sure you were a big part of this birth.

I like the idea of the power forward, boy can we use one now.

  5. Another Habs fan, Moeman! We are kings of the world! And I get to tell him about the Rocket and Lafleur and all the guys. It’s a great day.

  6. Christopher, nine and a half pounds is a great start. Maybe he’ll be like Byfuglien. His dad really likes football and I’m not sure what this means yet.

  7. Dennis, having a family like the Staals or Mahovlichs is great, but the Getzlaf family is pretty good too. Both Chris and Ryan played both hockey and football growing up. One grandson can be a Canadien and the brother can be a Tiger Cat. I’m hoping the dad is a CFL fan even if it’s for the Stampeders.

  8. Hey Grandpa, Good for you Dennis,I hope all is well and the parents are still in the clouds over this.I’m happy for you buddy, nothing better then having a new addition to the family.

  9. Congratulations!! I’m glad everyone’s happy and healthy and that little baby Adam has such a beautiful name.

    Habs Nation keeps growing!

  10. @Number 31 and Anvilcloud – thanks a lot. I’m a pretty proud guy now and this is my daughter’s fourth – two boys and two girls. All Habs fans whether they know it or not!

  11. Don, when I own the team I’m going to let my grandkids sit on the bench like Dick Irvin Jr. did sometimes. What a lucky guy he was to have a dad as coach and sit on the bench (once or twice) with Rocket and Boom Boom and the rest.

  12. Dennis, Mom, Dad and Adam – Congratulations and welcome to the best sport ever! Hockey is family, teamwork and sticking together.

All the best from Boston from Nancy and I.

  13. Thanks, Diane. I’m making you and Nancy official aunts because I’m the grandpa and I can do this!

  14. Congrats to you & mom and dad. Over 9 pounds sounds like we could have another Le Gros Bill !
    Cheers from the East!!!!

  15. Dennis, I didn’t realize you also have 2 grand-daughters. Looks like the Kane family will be very well represented at the 2030 Olympic games.

  16. OMG I go MIA for a couple of days and your family expands! A future HOF Montreal Canadiens player too no less! I see you brought him appropriate footwear already. Gotta protect those fabulous tiny feet for their future glory on Bell Centre ice!

Congrats to you and your family Dennis on the newest member! All the best and I’m just thrilled to bits for you!

  17. Thanks a lot, Tyg. And he’s such a big boy too! That’s number four for my daughter now, and I just love them, although I don’t get to see them often enough. Being a grandpa is a darn cool thing and I’d love to be there and see them anytime I want and spoil them, but I can’t. Maybe in a few years. It’s just been a special last few days and I can’t wait to see him and his two year old brother in Habs uniforms sometime around 2030.

  18. Ack, I’m late but congrats to you and your family. I hope to see the little guy in the bleu, blanc, et rouge soon.

And OMG those booties. So cute! <3

  19. DK, The little fellow has something else going for him. You mentioned he is your daughters forth child therefore the #4 he is destined to wear, atleast until he dons the Bleu Blanc et Rouge sweater, thats already hanging from the rafters.
    Les Canadiens Sont La!!!!

  20. Dennis, little Adam was born on the very first day of the Year of the Rabbit of the Chinese Zodiac calendar.

The rabbit is considered a lucky sign.

People born in that year are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise.

  21. It’s settled, Mike. I’m going to insist he wears number four all through his minor career. Then when he makes the big club, it can be 44! Thanks.

  22. Dennis, for sure Adam has excellent taste as is said of people born under the sign of the Rabbit. Just look at those magnificent booties! That’s footwear for a handsome young man!

  23. Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your comments and congrats, we’re very lucky and thrilled to add another Flames fan to our family (ha ha, just kidding!) I’ll take some pics and send them to my dad to post asap.
