During the 1962 Habs-Hawks semi-final series in which Chicago won four games to two, a slightly passionate Habs fan who maybe wasn’t thinking straight, broke into a glass case at Chicago Stadium and removed the Stanley Cup, which I suppose was there because the Hawks had won it the previous year.
Of course Mr. Kilander was busted right away because it goes without saying that the Stanley Cup is a fair size and a little hard to conceal.
When asked by the cops what he was doing, Den replied, “I want to take it back to where it belongs, to Montreal.”
Nice try, Den. Slightly unorthodox but we appreciate the effort.
