    They were men of character and understood the true meaning of teamwork and the resulting joy of hard-fought victories. They also earned a working-man’s salary unlike the multi-millionaire players of today who often act like prima donnas and divas.

    Bobby Hull once said “an athlete owes a debt of gratitude to both the fans and management; and he should never miss a payment.” Sure they were brutally underpaid for their efforts, but hasn’t the big money caused irreparable harm?

    I guess my point is these guys were REAL.

    (and money can’t buy happiness.)
