What a great video! We have a 10 year old grandson named Luke playing rep hockey here in Orillia. He is so enthused with the game and wants to be the next Sydney, living the Canadian dream .His enthusiasm is such a wonderful thing and we love to watch his games, though his team has won few .We do not care and are happy to see their attempts.. The boys at 10 are enthusiastic and try hard and do not cry when they lose. They are a cohesive group and have fun together after their games. Every weekend there seems to be a team party or skate on one of the lakes nearby where some of his teammates live .It is essentially Canadian hockey at it’s best as I remember from my youth in Northern Ontario when my brothers played hockey on outdoor rinks made by our dads

PS Gordon Lightfoot is a “neighbour ” of sorts- not ours but close to where my husband grew up. I did not realize until today that he was a hockey fan !

Minor and old news. I just realized that Aaron Palushaj is was claimed off waivers by Colorado as he was being returned to Hamilton following injury. Not a big loss, he was mostly known for being Pacioretty’s college teammate.
And in other insignificant news. Bruins nutjob Tim Thomas is now a Islander nutjob. The cheapskates need him to reach the salary cap floor. Unfortunately it lets the Booins out of their salary cap hell.

What a great video.
I love Sarah Harmer and I love her even more after hearing how she loves hockey.
Canada is hockey.

An under reported historical fact that’s not talked enough about proves Bobby Orr is the greatest player ever…It is
In 1966, Orr played his most memorable Junior game against the touring Russian National Team at Maple Leaf Gardens. Although the Russians won, 4-2, the best player on the ice was Bobby Orr.
He continuously intercepted the precision Russian attack and accelerated with dazzling rushes up ice.
He had just turned 18…says it all….

Hey Dennis,Great video how H.N.I.C. has reached out to us all over the years and made our Saturdays most memorable.I think if this doesnt woo back the fans that bettman and the lockout scared away, nothing will.

DK, to listen to Danny again “Lafleur up to Lemaire back to Lafleur he shoots, he scores” music to these old ears!! Hockey Night In Canada it’s in our DNA!

“Lafleur, coming out rather gingerly on the right side…”
It’s just a beautiful thing to hear. Danny Gallivan was the soundtrack to Guy Lafleur’s poetry on ice.
