Enjoy The Original Six In Splendid Quality

I don’t know how often this has ever been in circulation, but it’s one of most greatest ten minutes of hockey clips you’ll ever see.
It’s from 1967, the quality is sensational, like it was filmed today, and we see Jean Beliveau, as smooth as smooth can be, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Jacques Laperriere, Terry Harper, Ralph Backstrom, Terry Sawchuk, and just about everybody else from that time, all from the old Montreal Forum with the pillars in the background.
It’s called Blades and Brass, is set to music of a Mexican brass band, and comes from the National Film Board of Canada. So just sit back and enjoy the Original Six at the old Montreal Forum, in perfect quality.

Grizzelda, you’re a very lucky person. I saw many back then too, and I’m very proud of it.

Anyone who saw the greats play live…oh how I seethe in jealousy.
Tim Thomas has declined going to the White House:

Price has a cut foot. If it’s a bad one and he’s out for a while then our luck this year is really god-awful.

Tim Thomas does not respect President Obama and he doesn’t respect PK Subban either.
I’m not sure if this means what I think it means. But Thomas is the one who said what he said and made his choices…

Danno, I sure don’t like Thomas, and this is another notch in the Bruins long list of actions. What a team down there. I haven’t liked Thomas since he snubbed Price at the all-star game, and when he and Price got into that fight a year or two ago, I was hoping so much that Carey would drop him. This team leaves a bad taste.

Fantastic footage of the good old days….Love seeing the Golden Jet as he was my favourite player in my youth (ya ya I know he is not a Leaf)..

Leaf Fan, Hull was one of the best for sure, and kind of a glamour boy in the league. One thing about him, he was always great with the fans and would sign autographs until the cows came home, always with really nice penmanship.

I love the purity of the game as it was played then. Nothing but white along the boards. No ads for Viagra. No blarring rock music, fireworks or players skating out of a shark’s mouth.
Just really good hockey.

Hey Dennis
This 10 minute film kinda indicates why I loved NHL hockey back in the day but rarely watch an NHL game in it’s entirety today.I am bored with the NHL!
