Two goals by teenager Marie-Phillip Poulin, and steller netminding by Shannon Szabados, who had honed her craft playing against male hockey players much of her career, helped Canada’s lovely ladies win their third consecutive gold medal, taking it to the Yanks 2-0 in the final played today.
Of course, I didn’t see the game because I’m working, so I have no idea what I’m talking about.
But I know the Canadian gals can play a fine game of hockey, and I’m wondering how they would have done against the Orillia Byer’s Bulldozer Midgets when I was a smallish-yet-shifty right winger.
They probably would have kicked our ass. And knowing me, I would have clutched and grabbed just for the fun of it, and they would have kicked my ass too.
Anyway, great for the gals!
Next, it’s the men’s turn.
