Bruno Sings Hockey

Many people, especially in Canada, will remember actor Bruno Gerussi, star of the popular The Beachcombers television series (shot in Gibsons, BC, just south of where I live).
Bruno’s gone now, having joined that big log boom in the sky in 1995, but his memory lives on. Maybe not in this song, where he warbles “God bless Alan Eagleson” and such, but in reruns of The Beachcombers. Are there any reruns of The Beachcombers?
Here he is, ladies and gentlemen – Bruno singing Signin’ With The N.H.L.
(Thanks a lot to Beatnik for digging up this gem).

Too bad Gerussi wasn’t still around today, he could sing “God Bless Brian Burke”, now that he’s been fired by the Leafs!

Dennis, here we go offering our biggest brains to our fiercest rivals.
That’s class for you.
That’s what being a Habs fan is all about.

And not only that, Danno, but because we’re so kind and generous, we’re willing to allow some team who needs a good centreman to take our Gomez and his contract. We’re practically saints.

Does this spell the end of Truculence?
(Truculence inevitably leads to suckulence)
