Brad The Bad
March 1, 2012 in Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens Tags: Ben Eager, Brad Staubitz, Dan Carcillo, George Parros, Jordin Tootoo, Nick Boynton, Pierre-Cedric Labrie, Rick Rypien
Now that we have a new tough guy, which is such a tremendous thing, I decided to check out YouTube for a few Brad Staubitz fights.
A few? There’s reams of Brad Staubitz fights! There’s Brad against Nick Boynton, Brad vs. David Clarkson, Brad going toe to toe with Jordin Tootoo and Brandon Prust and Zenon Konopka and John Scott and Steve MacIntyre and Brad Winchester and Darcy Hordichuk and Cam Janssen and Ben Eager and Tim Jackman and Derek Dorsett and Dan Carcillo and Rick Rypien and George Parros and Ryan Reaves and on and on and on.
This is a serious scrapper.
Meanwhile, here’s Brad dropping them with Pierre-Cedric Labrie in his first game wearing Habs colours..

At first when I saw the headline I thought it was about Marchand. Oops.
So we have Brad, White (who I really like) and Moen. Not too bad. They’d come in handy against the Bruins that’s for sure. I think Brad better be ready for our next game against Tampa. I don’t trust that nut Malone one bit.
We had Paul Mara here who wasn’t bad but the Deacon of Dull Martin would never play him. The thing is, teams need an insurance policy and they probably always will.

Darth, it’s so refreshing to see a tougher lineup after having such a small and soft team for these past few years. Even the Canucks are trying to get tougher after learning from last year against the Bruins that toughness and feistiness are very important. So we’ve taken a step in the right direction.

True, except bigger breeds bigger and fighting breeds fighting. See what the Bruins started?

Let’s hope that the Habs show a little class in the offseason and resign this guy. I mean dropping gloves in his first game for a team of “cupcakes” as they are known throughout the league should earn him some points. I don’t want the era of the “Broad Street Bullies” again but with him, White, Moen, and Blunden next year the Bruins won’t be so bad and maybe Lucic and Thorton will be a little nervous. I just want our skaters be able to skate and not have to receive so many cheap and dirty shots so often. Enforcement has never been my thing but as do all things history seems to be repeating itself from the 70′s to an extent (hopefully limited). I want to see my Habs win more cups sooner rather than later but beating the Bruins and Leafs makes the long wait a little softer. I will always cheer my Habs though. GO HABS GO!

Marjo, a little muscle and it changes everything. Teams won’t be so anxious to play Montreal if they know they might end up with a sore nose.

That’s the thing, dra58. It doesn’t have to be a goon show. The team can be tough and skilled and absolutely Boston and others might not be all that happy to play us. Georges Laraque was a pussycat and didn’t get it done. Smaller guys like White and Staubitz show more guts. I think getting tougher is a big step in the right direction. And you bet, some Cups sooner than later. I don’t want to watch the next celebration from an old folks home.

DD: my new hero. I love that little fart.

Marjo, DD is helping to send Gomez away into the sunset. He’s completely out-playing him and at a tiny fraction of the cost!
