As Promised, Here It Is – Claude Lemieux Singing ‘Hallelujah!’
November 10, 2009 in Montreal Canadiens
As a continuation of yesterday’s post (‘Claude Lemieux Sings Better Than Me’) Claude Lemieux sings and figure skates in Battle of the Blades to his own recording of Hallelujah.
Here he is, singing his song. And thanks to Christopher for finding it and sending it along.

Besides figure skating, what is Claude’s day job?
As I was watching the show I missed Ron’s comment that it was Claude singing the recording and thought it was a professional.

I thought he was really good and so did my wife. I don’t know what Tom expected – Pavorotti?

Claude’s singing pleased me very much, me, a demanding choir leader. He must have been singing since he was very young. He has some subtleties that Tom seems to have missed. Maybe Tom expects “singers” to belt out the score as too many do. Excellent, Claude. You can join my choir any day.
I loved the skating that went with the music. Shae-Lyn is a glorious artist. Claude, you have been amazing during Battle of the Blades, with progress every performance. Thank you.

I have been haunted by Claude’s version of the song since he skated to it on Battle of the Blades. I finally decided to google it and it really is a fine rendition …. even for a former Montreal Canadien!

Barb, the Forum gods are going to haunt you for that. And PS, I really like Lemieux’s song too.
