All’s Well That Ends Well; Habs Edge Wild

Over the years the Montreal Canadiens have provided us with magical names – Howie Morenz, Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur, Andreas Engquist, and Brendan Nash.

And tonight, both Engqvist and Nash came through with a big goal apiece, along with Dustin Boyd and Ryan White, and the Habs even their preseason record at two wins, two losses with a solid 4-3 game over Guillaume Latendresse and his Minnesota Wild.

Alex Auld in nets stopped 11 of 14 shots.

It’s a nice win. It calms the natives. I’m sure it makes the players feel good. For 24 hours at least, Montreal must be a joyous city to be in. For 24 hours at least.

Random Notes:

Florida Monday night at the Bell.

Very emotional segment on Battle of the Blades with Russ Courtnall telling us about his father taking his own life when Russ was 12.
