  1. Dennis,

nice to see you mention of beehive photos! it inspired me to go find mine. I have 11 of them from the 1944 – 1963 group 2 set and you’ll be happy to know there all montreal canadians. Jean Guy Talbot, Don Marshall, Gilles Tremblay, Ralph Backstrom, Claude Provost, Bob Rousseau, Henri Richard, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Dickie Moore, Jean Beliveau and Jacques Plante. I was surprised to see they carry a fairly decent book value.

  2. Hi Jordy. I used to send my Beehive labels from corn syrup in to get mine. I’ve got a nice bunch now. Did you know that the really valuable ones are the non-stars? Everyone was getting the Rocket and those guys, so the players who weren’t stars weren’t in great demand and not many got circulated. You can expect to pay nearly 100 bucks for some of them.

  3. I had noticed that when i was looking at them in a card guide i have. I really didnt know much about them to be honest with you but i had an old neighbour give them to me along with an autographed picture of the rocekt and an older 8×10 picture of henri richard. I was looking through all my habs memorabilia and i figure all you habbers on here might be interested in some of the montreal canadian autographs i have: 2 maurice richard, guy lafleur, 2 jean beliveau, 2 ken dryden (both personalized), Elmer Lach, Henri richard, Yvon Cournoyer, Dickie Moore, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Patrick Roy. They go along great beside my Roberto Luongo, Sedin twins,Naslund, Ryan Kesler, Trevor Linden , Kirk Mclean , Richard Brodeur and Orland Kurtenbach autographs hahaha

  4. I fee like a dolt for asking this, but what is these beehive photo thingies? They sound intriguing.

Oh and….which category do “Habs fans who spent the last three hours writhing on the floor while oozing multi-coloured blood and wishing that the game would be over soon so their misery cut could be short for the time being” go in………?

  5. Beehives were great photos that were devided into three groups that spanned from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Beehive Corn Starch and Corn Syrup had individual posed photos of all players from the original six, and kids would send in the little round labels and get sent back the player of their choice. The black and white photos were glued to backing. You can find them on ebay for various prices. I have almost sixty Montreal players from group two 1940’s and ’50s.
